Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) May Speed Stimulus Incentives to Doctors, Says MedPlexus CEO
Sunnyvale, CA – Mar. 4, 2009 – With the recent passage of the $787 billion stimulus bill, over $19 billion in incentives became available for healthcare IT implementation. According to Chittaranjan “CM” Mallipeddi, CEO and founder of MedPlexus, a leading provider of software solutions to medical practices, those with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) in place are best positioned for the quickest receipt of current and future financial incentives.
“Most healthcare IT solutions in place now are outmoded and outdated,”” says Mallipeddi. “These legacy systems make it difficult and expensive to demonstrate the level of utilization necessary to receive not only currently available healthcare IT incentives, but also those from the stimulus bill.”

Plus, they allow for monthly billing instead of the multi-year, inflexible contracts required for other solutions.”
Adds Mallipeddi: “SaaS-based solutions remove the burdens of support and maintenance, making deployment of healthcare IT simple for practices without specialized IT skills. Practices using SaaS are in a much better position to reap the benefits to their bottom lines and productivity rates than those using legacy systems or less cost-effective currently available solutions.”
