On November 12, 2003, MedPlexus participated in a national press conference with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and alliance partners to launch an initiative to help provide 94,300 AAFP members with access to affordable electronic health records (EHR).
MedPlexus is one of nine companies in the Partners for Progress Alliance that have committed to provide family physicians with discounts on EHR technology.

MedPlexus announces the addition of OCR capability to the EMR component of the MedPlexus Solution for Physician Practice Management. The announcement was made at the Conference of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin in Chicago on June 27, 2002. At the same time, MedPlexus announced an independent EMR Archive Service. The MedPlexus EMR Archive Service uses MedPlexus' OCR capability to help eliminate costly paper chart archives at a physician's practice. Patient charts are scanned into the system and are instantly accessible directly or by any free form query - by word or topic. The EMR Archive Service is especially useful for finding lost or mis-filed documents as well as looking for patterns in the practice.

MedPlexus announces the availability of PDA support for its Physician Practice Management Solution. The mobile solution makes it easy to access patient appointment scheduling, charge capture capability and patient visit information on a PDA. Physicians have mobile access to appointment calendars loaded with pertinent patient information. They also have the ability to easily capture charges using the same groups of diagnosis and treatment codes the physicians put on their custom superbill, which are available on the Palm in easy-to-use drop down menus. Entering codes is easy and you can review, approve and forward charges to billing.
